WERRI SLASH 2019

Werri Boardriders top talent battled it out in the final of the annual Slash event, with Doug Chandler claiming the title.

Chandler, who competed on the world stage as a junior, only needed the three attempts in the final, scoring 7.97 and 7.27 in the final, as he waited to see if his club teammates and competition rivals could match his total.

Tully Robinson came closest, busily playing catch-up as the clock ticked down, but could 6 and 6.80, to be runner-up.

Matt Gale was third with Brett Connellan fourth.

Emerging Bulli junior star Kasey Hargraves claimed the open women's event, finishing with a superb 14.83 in the final.

Port Kembla's Charli Hurst finished second, while Barrack Heights' Kiara Meredith third and Darci Air (Bulli) fourth.

In other divisions, Robinson backed up to win the senior men's with scores of 7.43 and 8 in the final, ahead of Jake Spooner, with Ben McCarthy third and Jed Ashton the junior boys.
