Today 682 surfers paddled out to protest and say "NO" to the planned development by Reflections of the Killalea National Surf Reserve

Well done to everyone... new world record... thanks to Chris Homer
for organising the event... and Brad Farmer and the National Surfing Reserves
for your never wavering support of the surfing community... and coastal lifestyle

The paddle out was followed by a mass rally at the top of the park which saw several thousands turn out and unanimously reject Reflections plan to build 15 "eco cabins", turn the tent sites into astro-turfed caravan sites with power, water and sewerage.. a $300,000 kids playground.... and build a 200 seat function centre on the ridge line..
.
The meeting also called for the removal of the reserve from Reflections management and return to a community trust...
