All eyes were on the charts for weeks finally the crew at the Rock gave the green and all systems were go. A late start and a jump in the rising swell around 2.00pm set the scene for some death drops over the shallow reef not sure who got the wipeout of the day but there were many.
As a proud supporter of this event I have seen many younger surfers grow into outstanding athletes and the heats with father and son was a combination of years of talent on show.
